The Materials of our Collection

As a professional Brand of porcelain and ceramics for the entire range of restaurant and catering indutry we are optimally prepared for the different requirements of tableware. The total collection of Holst porcelain include more than 4.000 items and ideas in Design and Function - lives from the right combination "customer demand", "quality - price" and "design".

The differences in the types of ceramic qualities are often perceptible to the layman only when viewed critically and are often difficult to understand. Many material properties stand in an irrevocable relation of raw materials and firing temperature, which create the essential characteristics of the respective ceramic assignment. The defined usage characteristics determine material and price at Holst and make the best possible use of the respective advantages of a material type. A high heat storage can not be achieved with a "thin" aluminum ash and a rich, colorful decoration not on a thick-walled feldspar shard. That's why at Holst we carry six types of porcelain or ceramics.

The Holst porcelain collection 2017 is composed of different ceramic materials and qualities:

  • Fire resitant Porcelain
  • Feldspar Porcelain
  • High Alumina Porcelain
  • Durable China
  • Vitrous Porcelain
  • Stoneware

The Qualities of Holst Porcelain

Regardless of the raw material, production method and firing temperature, different quality grades result from the aforementioned porcelain types, in which we group our goods according to concrete sorting criteria.

  • Business
  • Economy
  • Budget
  • Outlet

Normally the quality of an article tailored to the respective target group and type of use. Of course, the same applies to porcelain as to many other products: the better the quality, the higher the price. Above all, this target group-oriented assortment planning, in which customer expectations are already assigned to fixed criteria when planning an article, makes our collection so efficient. If we recognize the highest benefit in a "price-performance ratio", the article is produced and selected according to the criteria of quality "economy". In fine dining or fine banquets, on the other hand, the quality expectations of customers are different, so that the criteria of quality "business" apply. If the price is the focus of the purchase decision, we manufacture according to the quality "budget".

Business by Holst Porzellan

The highest quality level of holst porcelain is named as "business"! The glaze is even, fine and radiant. The goods are free from obvious defects and restrictions. Very small pinholes or minimal refractions of light are still visible in a case of strict, meticulous observation in individual cases. Deformations are not recognizable and the floors are cleanly polished. The product is "Top" but of course not "100% perfect". This quality is made for the high class restaurant industry, four-star hotels and luxary restaurants.

Economy by Holst Porzellan

These items correspond to the average quality level of our collection. The glazes are flat and radiant. Smaller, usually minimal, optical defects on the surface affect neither the grace nor the intended use of the goods and are only visible under strict observation or refraction. The dimensional accuracy of functional utensils is guaranteed (scholarly goods) and the general claim of the porcelain for daily use (Daily Use) tailored. This quality level results from a "mixed sorting A / B grade" (80% / 20%) and forms for the middle hotel and catering industry (2 to 3 stars), event and event service, experience kitchens, idea cooks, scene gastronomy and private end consumers with fashionable Claiming the optimal combination of price and performance, these sorting criteria are in line with the expectations of professional hosts, who know that a schnitzel does not taste better on a high-end dish than on a cheaper one.

Budget by Holst Porzellan

Good for saving money! "Budget" quality offers a great value for small expenses. Only conspicuous, large defects (iron stains, glass streaks) are sorted out as they do not affect the use of the goods. For those who are not fussy and really appreciate a good price for long purchase periods. The special feature here is that budget is not a post-consumer item but a long-term component of the assortment and results from a "mixed sorting" A / B / C grade "(80% / 15% / 5%). The target group is in the provision of large consumers and event catering, who appreciate a low price with simultaneous Nachkaufmöglichkeit.

Outlet by Holst Porzellan

This product is the "second choice" of our quality assorting from Business, Economy and Budget. Faulty porcelain (B / C) has to go also! The quality "Outlet" is faulty goods - also sorting committee from the above qualities - as well as II. Choice which we want to get rid of at a bargain price. In addition, under this quality criterion also sample items, test harnesses and Probefertigungen fall in good or regular quality. Residuals, discontinued products and customer returns are also sold under this name. That's why browsing in this class and in our stores is always worthwhile!

Attention: Sale only while stocks last and the intermediate sale is reserved!

Any errors and deficiencies are described in more detail in the respective article text.
